The Intake Section serves the citizens of the community by handling criminal misdemeanor
complaints. Intake officers process
the complaints and then make appropriate referrals.
If you wish to file a complaint, you must appear in person at the Intake Section –
375 South High Street

The Intake Section is open during the following hours:

The following types of criminal complaints
are not handled by our office:

Complaints against individuals under the age of 18 at the time the incident occurred.
Please go to the Juvenile Court Intake Section – 399 South Front Street Columbus,
OH 43215. They are open
Monday – Friday - 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Felony complaints – please contact the law enforcement agency that handles the location
where the crime occurred. All felony matters are investigated by the police and prosecuted
by the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.

Complaints involving crimes
that occurred outside of Franklin County unless
the incident was within the
Columbus city limits. Please contact the law enforcement agency that handles the
location where the crime occurred.

Complaints involving crimes that occurred in the following jurisdictions: Brice, Gahanna,
Groveport, Hilliard, New Albany,
Reynoldsburg, Upper Arlington, and Whitehall.
If the crime occurred in one of these municipalities, please contact the law enforcement
agency or city solicitor for that municipality.
